Meet Legislators at the State Capitol
It’s more important than ever to share the benefits of Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Continuing Care Retirement Communities and our position on legislation that could affect these popular care options. Participate in Advocacy Day and make a difference by meeting with legislators. CALA’s staff and lobbyist will brief you on specific bills and provide talking points to make your meetings successful. Don’t miss this members-only event!

The Policy & Politics of Alzheimer’s
Susan DeMarois, State Policy Director, Alzheimer’s Association
Alzheimer’s disease directly affects more than 5 million Americans today, and as many as 16 million will have the disease in 2050. The disease takes a toll on family members too, with more than 15 million caregivers supporting a loved one with dementia. As society seeks a solution and grapples with system improvements, what are the public policy hurdles we are facing? What role, if any, does politics play in finding a cure and providing care? Learn what the Alzheimer’s Association is doing to address these issues and how they’re working to affect positive change in California and beyond.
