Meeting with legislators in their home district helps solidify relationships made during state and federal advocacy days and reminds legislators of the significant impact licensed senior living providers have on constituents, including residents, their families and employees. CALA’s Day in Your District has been providing this opportunity with state legislators for years. This year CALA is excited to launch a new event, Federal Day in Your District. Both events help cultivate relationships with legislators and staff at the district level to shape the conversation about California’s Assisted Living, Memory Care and Continuing Care Retirement Communities.

Recently, there has been heightened attention on senior living at the federal level and it is important to build relationships with your congressional representatives to advocate for this model of care on the national level. Like Day in Your District, CALA members will meet with policymakers to discuss this model of care and create new relationships, or build on existing relationships, with congressional representatives and their district staff.
